Open Door Youth

Our Passion

Our passion is to help guide youth (7-12 grade) toward adult Christian maturity by providing an environment of grace that is conducive to teen growth. We approach youth ministry with a “whole church” strategy, connecting our youth to many adults and to the broader life and ministry of the church.

Goals for our Students

We want all of our students to be able to proclaim...

I am created to pursue and authentic relationship with my creator.

I belong to Jesus Christ and define who I am by what He says.

I exist every day to demonstrate God's love to a broken world.

Our 2017-2018 Theme

Small Groups

These are small 3-4 person accountability groups.

Guys Growing with God - a time to play hard, work hard, and pray hard!  A group for 7th-12th grade guys to come and discover how to be a man of God through intentional challenging game, service projects and diving into God's Word so we can stand firm in the face of trouble.  Led by Alex Medlin & Tim Vargo

Youth Bible Studies

Sundays, 9:30 am

This semester we're studying the book of Colossians taught by Josh Loughmiller.

Wild Wednesdays

Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 pm

This summer, we're meeting all together to enjoy some great summer fun and bible study.

Youth in Ministry

We encourage all our Youth to be involved in some area of ministry using their interests and gifts. This is a key element in their spiritual formation. Some may serve in our Kids Ministry through The Ark or KidZone Worship. Others can serve as Greeters or on the Worship Team. As with adults, we expect those who serve in these ministries to participate in the worship service and be connected to a small group.

Prayer Champions

One of our key goals is to assign an adult Prayer Champion to each of our youth. These Prayer Champions are committed to praying regularly for their teens and encouraging them throughout their middle school and high school years, and even beyond.

Resources for Parents

"...bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." - Ephesians 6:4

God's primary plan for getting His truth into the lives of teenagers is at the feet of their parents.  We want to come along side

parents and families during these teenage years to help our students know, grow and live for Jesus Christ.

We hope that these resources will help equip our parents and families for the adventure of bringing Jesus glory in all we do!
