Our Vision is what drives us to draw others into a life-changing relationship with Jesus so they can truly know and live for him.
Simply put, our Vision is to:
Build lives to know and live for Jesus Christ.
Everything we do in thought, word and deed should reflect this vision. Accordingly, we want to order all our priorities, plans and energies toward this goal. And in doing so, we are committed to doing whatever it takes to open doors to people of all ages and races who need the saving grace that only Jesus offers by faith.
Our Core Values...
At Open Door, we realize that our Values show what's important to us and therefore drive all that we do. We've
identified four primary values that we are especially passionate about.
Teaching God's Word for life change. We believe that understanding God's Word, the
Bible, is what nurtures a real life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and
enables us to live a meaningful life of faith. So we are committed to teaching
the Bible in a way you can clearly understand and helps you live it out in your
everyday life.
Accepting people where they are. We understand that people need and long to
experience the love and grace of God. We all come from various backgrounds and
spiritual journeys. Some of us struggle to know God's love and acceptance
because we haven't experienced it elsewhere. So we want to be a place where you
can find genuine love and acceptance and know the God of love in a personal and
deeper way.
Building Christ-honoring families. We believe families are on the front lines of
what God wants to do in our world, and face many challenges today. So we're
passionate about helping you build a strong family ~ husbands and wives,
fathers and mothers, kids and teens ~ that honors Christ and makes a difference
in this generation.
Loving each other as spiritual family. In the same way that blood defines our physical
families, our common faith in the blood of Jesus and His atoning sacrifice
unite us as spiritual family. As children of God, we are called to love one
another in the same way that Jesus loves us. And just as in our natural
families, this love is demonstrated as we care for each other, forgive each
other, support each other, serve each other, and even ask for help when we need
it. In this way, we show that we are His disciples and bring glory to God our
Father.
Equipping people to serve. We recognize that the Christian life is not
about us and our plans, but about what God wants to do in and through us. And
we realize that following Jesus means we will look for ways to serve others, as
he did. So we're excited about helping you discover and use your gifts, time
and resources to be a blessing to others ~ in your home, in your church, in
your community and around the world.
Sharing Jesus with the world around us. We're convinced that Jesus is the hope of the
world, that He loves the world deeply and has planted His church in the world
to share His light and love with the world around us. So as His chosen people,
we accept the call to be His witnesses, using our gifts, resources and
opportunities to share Him with the world ~ in our neighborhoods, workplaces,
schools, communities and beyond.
